Studio Policy

  • Always come to lessons with everything you need in order to play the horn. This includes your horn, music, mouthpiece, notebook, pencil, and etc.
  • I require all students to keep a lesson journal in order to write down what to work on week to week such a specific etudes, solo pieces, and exercises. This will also be a good place for the student to write down reflections throughout the week about how his or her practice is going, what he or she is struggling with, and what is going well.
  • Cash or check should be presented at the start of each lesson.
  • If you foresee there will be an issue with your scheduled lesson time, please contact me immediately to reschedule. Less than 24 hours notice of cancelation will result in a fee of half the cost of the lesson. Less than 4 hours notice of cancelation will result in a fee of the entire cost of the lesson.
  • Please be prompt for the start of your lesson! Regardless of when you show up, the lesson will have to conclude at the scheduled end time as I often have commitments with other students or the orchestra immediately following.
